Floorstanding Speaker

The Callas Edizione Speciale represents an exclusive evolution of the renowned Callas line, enhanced by the new and refined Padouk finish.

Padouk is a prized exotic wood, appreciated for its intense coral-red color, which naturally evolves over time into elegant brownish-grey tones. Originating from tropical forests, it is known for its exceptional stability, hardness, and durability — qualities that make it ideal for high-end applications such as luxury furniture, flooring, outdoor use, and precision components.

From a construction standpoint, this edition introduces significant upgrades: the traditional glass top has been replaced with a solid 5 mm aluminum plate, finely engraved with the model name. On the rear panel, a new aluminum connector plate has been introduced, designed to house the updated connectors.

Completing the design, the entire internal wiring of the loudspeakers is made using AudioQuest cables, ensuring superior quality and outstanding sonic performance.

The AudioQuest Cable, Semi-Solid Concentric Long-Grain Copper (LGC) Conductors

In a conventional multi-strand cable, distortion caused by electrical and magnetic strand interaction is compounded as each strand changes position within the bundle. In an AQ Semi-Solid Concentric cable, strands within the bundle maintain their fixed relationships, significantly reducing distortion. Long-Grain Copper (LGC) allows a smoother and clearer sound than cables using regular OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper. LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, less impurities, less grain boundaries, and definitively better performance.

Many audiophiles will carefully select well-made speaker cables to connect their speakers to their amplifiers. They often ask why they should go to that effort if the manufacturer uses very basic wiring inside the speaker from the crossover to the drive units.

To ensure that we preserve quality and detail and provide the very best audio reproduction we have used high quality AudioQuest cables inside our Callas series to provide a the best listening experience with minimal signal loss or distortion.

The 16 gauge cable inside the Callas series uses thick strands of high quality oxygen free copper with carefully controlled geometry so that each strand has the same location along the length of the cable. The metal itself is drawn/extruded slowly and carefully to reduce the oxides and barriers to signal that are present in more basic conductors.

This design reduces strand interaction and distortion to give a cleaner and more detailed sound, allowing you to enjoy more of your music.
